73 Million Indians survive on less than $1.9 per day. India is also home to the fourth largest population of billionaires in the world.
Reach Lives is tackling this inequity by bridging the gap between the haves and the have-nots. We work in Bengaluru, Madurai, Panjim and surrounding areas through 3 initiatives:
OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE
The Reach Lives team is currently involved in bringing food and produce to vulnerable groups of homeless in Bangalore. With widespread lockdowns in effect, these populations of people are left stranded with no means of accessing daily nourishment. Our partnership with Night Shelter helps us achieve this.
Our partner health workers are currently involved in front-line healthcare services. Further, we are continuing to work with the communities we have reached to ensure healthy community behavior.
Our insights team is using the various outlets available to spread accurate information on COVID-19. Tackling misinformation is a key strategy that is needed during these testing times. We believe that our efforts in using reliable data sources - the WHO and the Indian MoHFW is effective in this regard.
