We are thrilled to announce a wonderful partnership between ACI Worldwide and the Anora Charitable Foundation (ACF) as part of our ongoing initiative, Reach Lives. ACI Worldwide has generously sponsored 16 children at the Navajeevana Balavikas Children Home in Medahalli, covering their essential needs, including food, accommodation, education, and healthcare.

This collaboration is a testament to ACI Worldwide’s commitment to uplifting underserved communities and helping ACF extend its impact in meaningful ways.

A Heartwarming Day of Celebration

The day began with warm smiles as we gathered at 10 AM for tea, coffee, and snacks, offering the perfect start to a special event. Our guests from ACI Worldwide were welcomed with a property tour, giving them a firsthand look at the facilities that provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children. This was followed by a get-together at 11 AM, where the children, who are residents of various ACF homes, performed heartfelt songs and dances, showcasing their talent and joy.

During this event, we had the opportunity to present the overarching objectives of ACF and our vision for Reach Lives. Afterward, games were organized for both the children and attendees, sparking moments of laughter and connection. A lively photo session captured these memories before the event concluded with a delicious lunch, providing everyone a chance to reflect on the day’s success.

Expanding Our Reach to Improve Lives

At ACF, we focus on transforming lives through three key areas: healthcare, nutrition, and education. Our work extends across India, operating homes for the destitute and working tirelessly to ensure that every individual we serve has access to a brighter future.

With the ongoing support of partners like ACI Worldwide, we are actively expanding our reach to new areas, aiming to make a greater impact on more communities in need. Every new initiative strengthens our ability to uplift lives, and the Reach Lives project is at the heart of this mission.

We are immensely grateful to ACI Worldwide for their generosity and to everyone who continues to support our vision. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of many.

Pride Month is a time of celebration, reflection, and solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community worldwide. For Anora Charitable Foundation (Reach Lives), it represents a critical period to amplify our efforts towards supporting and uplifting the transgender community in Bengaluru, India. This June, we are proud to highlight our collaboration with Esper.io Software Services Pvt Ltd., which generously sponsored 35 kits for impoverished transgender individuals. The distribution of these kits on June 29th, 2024, marks a significant step in our ongoing mission to provide essential support to those in need.

The Struggles of Impoverished Trans-Persons in India

Transgender individuals in India face multifaceted challenges, particularly those living in poverty. Many are compelled to resort to daily collections or begging to survive, a reality born from systemic discrimination and limited access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. These struggles underscore the importance of targeted interventions and sustained support from organizations like ours.

Our Commitment to the Transgender Community

Over the years, Anora Charitable Foundation (ACF) has implemented various initiatives to support transgender persons, particularly in Bengaluru. Notable among these is the LGBTQube project of 2022, where we successfully raised funds for trans-health initiatives. This project also sponsored 50 transgender individuals to enjoy their first movie in a multiplex, thanks to our partnerships with PVR Cinemas and BookMyShow's Book a Smile initiative.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, ACF distributed rations and essential medical supplies to over 1,000 transgender persons. These efforts highlight our enduring commitment to ensuring the well-being and dignity of one of the most marginalized communities in our society.

The Importance of Pride Month

June is globally recognized as Pride Month, a period dedicated to honoring the resilience and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community. It is a time to reflect on the progress made, acknowledge the ongoing struggles, and galvanize support for a more inclusive and equitable future. For the transgender community in India, Pride Month serves as a reminder of the critical need for acceptance, support, and systemic change.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Esper.io Software Services Pvt Ltd. for their generous support during Pride Month 2024. Their contribution has made a tangible difference in the lives of many transgender individuals. Thank you for standing with us and the transgender community this Pride Month. Your support makes all the difference.

Anora Charitable Foundation (ACF) is proud to announce that we have received the People of Action Award Recognition Award from Rotary Bangalore - Bhuvaneshwarinagar for "exemplary work done to create hope in the world during 2023-2024".

ACF Team receives The People of Action Recognition award from Rotary Bangalore.

2023-2024 was a challenging year for ACF, however, with your help and the help of organizations such as Rotary International, Dream India Network and others, we have continued and expanded our programming across healthcare, nutrition and education for children and the destitute in Bengaluru.

During the past year, ACF faced numerous challenges, including:

  • Overcoming barriers to healthcare access in underprivileged communities.

  • Addressing severe malnutrition among children in urban slums.

  • Ensuring continuity of education for children amidst economic hardships.

  • Mobilizing resources and volunteers in response to urgent needs during public health crises.

The need for urgent action in healthcare, nutrition, and education, especially for children in a growing country like India, cannot be overstated. With a rapidly expanding population and significant socioeconomic disparities, these sectors require immediate and sustained attention. Poor healthcare infrastructure, widespread malnutrition, and gaps in educational access pose critical challenges that need to be addressed to ensure a brighter future for the next generation.

Looking ahead, ACF is committed to continuing its mission of improving the lives of those in need. Our plans for the future include:

  • Enhancing our nutrition programs to provide balanced meals and nutrition education to more children and families.

  • Strengthening our educational support systems to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive.

In addition, ACF is thrilled to announce the expansion of our ACF Scholarship Programme in a big way. This initiative aims to support more students in their educational journey, providing them with the resources they need to achieve their dreams. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting development.
